
Registration is easy. The site admin can send invitations by email to existing or prospective members.
When a member gets an email, it contains a link to the Registration page. A few simple pieces of information (first name, last name, email address) and the member can create a username. Then the system will send them a confirmation email with a password.
Once the member has logged on for the first time, they are taken to their member profile. This is where she fills out some information about herself to share with other members, and the contact details to be shared with the site admin. Once the member is active, the system adds information about recent posts etc.
The member can change his or her password at any time from the Profile page.
Lost password? The Log In Page contains a link which will automatically send a new password to the member.
Sharedbase keeps email addresses private since the private messaging system allows members to contact one another without revealing their email information. If a member does NOT want to be contacted through the messaging system, a quick click on the checkbox will prevent any contact from other members.
Studies have shown that members are more active if they can see who they're interacting with. We recommend encouraging your members to add their photo to their profile page.
From the member profile page, each member can choose to opt-in to receive a weekly digest of everything that's happening on the site. This email is a great reminder to visit the site and find out the news.
